What it is doing, and what that means
01Control panel dark or not answering a touch?
If the breaker for that circuit had tripped, and the panel returns and the cabinet cools after one resetSafe to wait

02A zone reading off its setting on a unit only a few years old?
If someone in the house changed the setting, a fresh case was loaded, or the bottles are touching the rear wallSafe to wait
Put the setting back, space the bottles and give the zone a full day to settle.

With settings and air ruled out, the unit needs a meter on it. On a new column that is still a warranty conversation first.
Check the warranty before anyone books
A DEC column bought in the last few years may still be inside Sub-Zero’s own cover. We do not print its terms here because they are Sub-Zero’s to state. Find the paperwork, or call Sub-Zero with the serial number from the tag. If the cover has ended, or the fault falls outside it, we take it from there.
Settings first on a young unit
On a new column, a changed setting is the first thing to rule out. Anyone in the house can change a zone. Look at both settings and put them back where you want them.

- Look at your warranty paperwork first. If the unit is still covered, start with Sub-Zero: that cover is worth using before you pay anyone, us included. Once the warranty is behind you, or it does not reach the fault, call Sub-Zero Repair Woodinville on (425) 321-3414.
- Is a DEC column the same cabinet as the IW it replaced?
- The outside numbers match: Sub-Zero lists both families at 18, 24 and 30 inches wide and 84 inches tall, and both can wear your own panels. Inside they are different generations, so parts are not assumed to swap. Read the tag on the handle-side wall before anyone orders anything for either one.
