The kickplate is the whole story, most of the time
The condenser sits behind the kickplate, a hand’s width above whatever the floor collects. Dog hair, flour, remodel dust: it drifts into the coil, and a coil that cannot shed heat runs long and warm. Sub-Zero warns that skipping the clean costs temperature and, in time, the machinery.
So the order is fixed: clean, wait a day, decide. Still warm on a clean coil in a cool kitchen, and the fan-motor line is where the price lands. Sub-Zero also lists showroom mode among the causes of a warm unit; if yours is new and has never held cold, say so when you ring.

Asked about the UC-24
- My UC-24 is warm and the display says OFF. Is it broken?
- Probably not. POWER on the control panel switches the unit off, and a wipe of the panel can touch it by accident. Touch POWER once and give it a few hours to pull down. If it will not come back on, call Sub-Zero Repair Woodinville on (425) 321-3414 with the tag details.
